Nejd Jill Yaziji founded her firm in 2006, after many years of working at major Houston firms. Her goal was to offer her clients a competent, zealous, and honest legal practice. Ms. Yaziji has risen to the top of the legal profession, having been named to Houstonia’s Top Houston Attorney List in 2013, 2014 and 2015, according to a survey that relied on peer review and industry recognition as evaluation criteria. The leading attorney ranking website, Avvo, rates Ms. Yaziji an outstanding 10 out of 10. But most importantly, the firm’s clients have publicly praised her level of preparedness, proficiency in the law, and professionalism that matches or exceeds much larger firms.
For each one of her immigration or asylum cases, Ms. Yaziji spends the time to know the client’s story and learn the facts that might make the case more complicated, and prepares accordingly.
She especially enjoys working on asylum cases—helping those who have suffered persecution and torture. Her clients include Arab writers or thinkers, students demonstrating in the streets of Damascus or Ukraine, Yazidis, Muslims, and Christians in Iraq, victims of governmental and para-governmental oppression.
She has represented hundreds of asylees and immigrants, and helped them establish themselves in their adopted country.
Ms. Yaziji studied at the University of Texas School of Law, where she received an Achievement Award in International Litigation. She is proud to serve on the board of The Houston Lawyer, the magazine of the Houston Bar Association. She is also proud to serve on the board of the Arab American Culture and Community Center of Houston, Texas (ACC).
Ms. Yaziji loves sports, writing and movies, and is fluent in Arabic and French. She is a member of the State Bar of Texas, American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), American Bar Association (ABA), Houston Bar Association (HBA), Houston Trial Lawyer Association (HTLA), and many other legal organizations.
